Do we want character at all?
Scribe N.S.Trivedi has in his commendable letter dated 16th instant put a right question ‘Do we have character at all? He is senior person and has seen more summers also. Concept about character and culture is quite out dated for persons like him and me too. Such persons should change their attitude, vision, concept and mentality also. He has cited several examples. Another scribe Suresh Parmar has praised Cameron and yet another scribe Burhanpurkar could dare to ask Indian government why book on Indira Gandhi ‘Red Sari’ written by Levier Moro could not be allowed to be published in India. It appears that most of the scribes of the esteemed news paper are out dated (I am 68).Yes we have our own notions and such notions are certainly not against public morality, rational and logical thinking. But my dear friends times have gone and one can find persons like A. Raja, Kalmadi Karunanidhy .Yedurappa.Chavan and so many others are sailing in the same boat. P.M.has decided to keep mum on the question of 2G spectrum. He could dare to say that there is difference between Gad bad and Ghotala (mismanagement and fraud). Yes! true dear PM. But what CAG has reported is quite astonishing and it reveals that through Gad bad Ghotala has been committed. Can PM dare to say with confidence that there is nothing like corruption in the Tele Communication Ministry during A. Raja’s regime, CWG and Adersh Housing Society and so many scams?A.Raja while resigning took his last resort of defence that since he is Schedule cast person he has been harassed. For such person caste label is the only shield and not any thing also. Right from lowest cadre to the top brasses hardly one can see an ideal man for whom one can have respect for his probity and integrity. For Congress Sonia is an ideal person but out come during her regime as President of the Congress is negative only. Since 2004 when Congress has come in power till now we are hearing about corruption and corruption only that too under the shelter of the Congress. If out dated people want to know about modern culture, civilization, character and morality then they should see Bigg Boss, Mithi Chhuri and any Indian Serial on TV and will be able to know that Indian women has certainly empowered themselves and have surpassed the male folk also. This was Indians’ dream which we have seen. Let outdated folk of people should learn and understand what morality and Indian culture is. It is not P.M. or any party in power but it is the national character which can eradicate corruption .Presently there are no social reformers of people who can connect with general public and can change their views. All are running to become P.M. or C.Ms. Presently the trouble is that the wide spread impact of TV channels on general public is very adverse. These channels are not building national character in right perspective but making people debouched and corrupt. What is presently happening is not correct.
What we want is missionary like instinct in every one to work for the nation but perhaps it may not come true in near future because the present character and culture has changed the direction of the traditions of India to materialist and consumerism liking and desire.
